Today we started on Charlie’s remembrance visits…we stopped at Ellsworth Air Force Base where he was stationed back in the 50s. We toured the Museum and took a bus tour of the base. Needless to say, he didn’t recognize anything!!!
After checking in to our B&B, it was off to Mt. Rushmore. It was a cloudy day and the temperature was in the 50s so that probably kept the crowds down. I was really impressed……
Our final stop of the day was at the Crazy Horse Memorial. This has been a “work in progress” for over 50 years!!!! I’m not sure I understand the whole story. I have a sneaky suspicion that someone is making a lot of money from this project.
That’s it for today…..tomorrow is supposed to be rainy so don’t know what we will do.
