We started the morning early to view the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone early before the crowds. The morning was cool but the sun was shining..AT LAST… We drove the south rim first with a stop at Artist’s Point. there are not enough superlatives to describe the scenery. It was truly magnificent!!!!
Next it was a drive around the North Rim…again, the scenery was indescribable!!
We continued down thru Hayden valley to Sulphur Caldron and Mud Volcano area.
Farther down in to Hayden Valley, we saw a big herd of Bisons and their babies…
We drove along Yellowstone Lake…….
Then it was on to view the main reason to come to Yellowstone National Park
This was the end of a very long day and it was cold and windy so we did not walk out to see the other geysers in the area…will save that for next time…
We checked in to the Old Faithful Inn…supposedly, a “geyser view room”…unfortunately, the view was blocked by a very large tree!! We had a reservation for dinner at the famous restaurant at the Inn…..we were seated pretty promptly but we then sat there for 45 minutes without any one coming to take our order….for the first time in my life..we walked out!!!
